Hey, we agree!

Well, I hope it's that we agree that we both tired of seeing US forces engaged in a high-tempo, but useless containment policy that forces our military to maintain nearly constant overflight of Iraq. It's better to just get it "over with", stay in a limited manner for a couple of years while we're restructuring Iraqi society along quasi-democratic lines, and then bringing the troops home.

Saddam is just as, or even more, intransigent than he was in 1990. He will continue to push the envelope, taking a mile for every inch we give him, until we force him to retreat politically.

In fact, he HAS TO be this way in order to continue to maintain his power structure in the nation. Any sign of weakness towards the US and he knows that his rivals will plot against him.
