Our military works pretty well -- better than most of our institutions, including business right now. Perhaps America just has to do what it does well -- deploy the military to address all issues. Perhaps we could refine the approach a little -- lets forget about "nation building" as we could not care less about these people. We care about oil. Lets just go in, kill as many people as needed to secure the oil fields and make sure that our military removes any ability for these countries to mount a defense. Lets go get Iraq first. Then lets get the oil fields in Saudi Arabia and Iran. If people object, we will bomb them too. Our bombs get better every year, and the smaller nuclear bombs will make quite a statement once we get over that squeamish feeling about using them. Lets just kill people, get the oil and be done with it.
