Let the weapons inspectors in - that’s a good start.

That's not even getting to the starting gate. Those inspectors must have permission to look at ANYTHING they want to look at, including Saddam's palaces where it's likely many weapons are squirreled away.

That was the agreement... Let the inspectors in, give FULL AND UNCONDITIONAL cooperation, and don't harrass them.

And permitting them to return under the previous circumstances is unthinkable, and foolhardy.

As to why Ritter accepted $400,000 from an Iraqi-American businessman with ties to Baghdad, who knows. But I heard him ADMIT IT on CSPAN. He just claimed that the FBI has investigated it and were unable to find any evidence that the money originated with Baghdad.

But it defies logic that he couldn't obtain $400,000 from some liberal sources opposed to any attack upon Iraq. It certainly wouldn't be as easy to call his integrity into question.
