Charles:

So do you agree that it would have made sense for the taxpayers to pay down debt while they had the opportunity, rather than dissipate the surplus by distributing it in the form of a tax cut, as long as I don't characterize the recipients of the tax cut as "wealthy?"

Ah, but you already have.

Paying down the debt is an admirable goal, if there are no more pressing needs for the money. Mr Bush and Congress (let's not forget their part in this) have apparently decided that the debt can wait. Doubtless it will.

Are you going to attempt to answer my question?

Rick

Charles-the-Die-Hard Democrat wants to tax the country into prosperity. The Democrats are the economic blind trying to lead the blind.

Lots'a voters will be out in November screaming:

"Raise my taxes! Give me the deflation I NEED to elect 40 Daschlegephardt clones to the House! Take MY job! Throw ME out in the street! It's all about the debt! 'Honest Bob' Rubin said so, and I'm ready to die on THAT hill!!!".

Call it a movement, of sorts. Sort of a mall cow/moron alliance.

Or, as Li'l Abner and Daisy May would have said, "Nachurly."

ROFLMAO!!!!...
