Jim, <How long would it be for some foreign company to come out with another version of Windows if the source code was known?>

Big deal, it's not like Microsoft has anything innovative in their code.

The power of Microsoft comes from control over the standards. So what if some foreign company, country, or hacker comes out with a Windows clone? By the time they get it out into the market, it will already be obsolete and incompatible with the next version of Windows.

By the way, the proposal in California is a joke. It's funny how Kap is salivating over his MSFT shorts, because if the proposal becomes law, this country is taking one gigantic step toward communism. Then Kap won't have to worry about keeping his capital gains no more.

Jim,

Jim, all you have to do is go to SE Asia (like Singapore) and pick up
a "pirated" version for 10$US.
