Maybe the age is younger, now. But in 1992, the starting point for a wealthy American (top 2%) was a net worth of $600,000 (w/an average age of >54). The top 2% accounted for 28% of personal wealth in the Country. With the average rich person (in the top 2%) under 50 worth about half as much as the average (wealthy)80 year old.

You mean the Forbes 400?
