My take is the G-7, with the blessing of the U.S., engineered the drop in the dollar, knowing full well that foreign money would flee the overpriced stock market.
The lower dollar (and farm subsidies) really help farmers. On behalf of the farmers, I can say, God bless Bush.

As for the rest of the economy, what can they do to bolster the overbuilt techno-mania? Nothing. Not a thing anyone can do. So, my prediction is, at the Economic Summit in Waco this week, they will agree to do nothing.
And none of us should be surprised.
