Funny, we subscribe to Time magazine because the kids like it, but I very rarely read it. Have to admit that what draws my attention most of the time when reading print is science, followed by business, because the news is usually old.

For hard news, when it's a non-political story, any major outlet is reliable enough. I get most of my news from cable, and mostly flip up and down the spectrum (72 is Fox, 71 is CNN, 68 is CNBC, 67 is MSNBC or when BBC has news, that's 226.) For politics, I stick to Fox unless I want to see the other points of view.

Whoops, forgot to mention C-Span. Now that's a news outlet. Only you have to do your own heavy lifting.
