"It seems like hypocrisy to me to condemn as immoral practices one has engaged in without acknowledging that they were wrong then"

The loan was common practice, legal and was repaid. No need to acknowledge wrong doing.

The stock sale was reported by him and not the company (I believe). It was investigated and he was cleared, and eventually the 2nd set of reporting that was needed was filed. The thing has been looked at 4 or 5 times since he was cleared. For the dems (and you) to attack what the President is doing to correct corporate malfeasence because of this old transaction is to divert attention from what needs to be done and to hurt the President's popularity so that your guys have a better chance to unseat him. I bleieve STRONGLY that the dems are more concerned about gaining power than solving America's problems. The example you are so hot on is an excellent example.

As were the attacks on his 24 year old dui, his duaghter's fake id, his proclaimed cowardice in the moments after the attack, etc., etc., etc..

Petty demo whining politics imo. Fortunately America seems to be smartening up.

I doubt you believe your argument against Harken has legs to stand on. It is nothing I would consider a blatant abuse of the system and certainly not illegal. Currant legislation is needed in response to extreme cases, which took unfair advantage of existing laws.
