My deduction that Ericsson has mastered location technology is based on the FCC document--the third one I linked--at page 3, footnote 5. It states that AWE's Ericsson-supplied GSM networks are already operational in several cities.

As I understand that location capability was necessary, the absence of any request by AWE for a waiver with respect to Ericsson-supplied GSM networks indicates that the ERICY location technology, which is not Snaptrack, is working appropriately.

Nokia's networks, on the other hand, seem to be troublesome to AWE. Several fatal errors noted in the software package resulting in network failures.

Don't know the present status of the Nokia stuff. I'm sure Nokia is working on it.
