My own position is that morality is logically antecedent to religion, but anthropologically posterior, and stronger if tied to the sentiments of reverence and gratitude fostered by religion.........

Have you seen the new Anna Nicole Smith show?

So you are not proposing any specifically dictated moral order relative to a particular God? You simply think the notion of a God Authority encourages a "stronger" morality since it is liable to acknowledge both reverence and gratitude?

I wonder if there is not a downside to the self serving "morality" chosen by the adherents of any particular God authority: Mithra, Zeus, Chronos, Manitou, Thor, Allah...were they all morally impartial as regards notions of justice, or did they exhibit human flaws of moral partiality?

Will gratitude to Allah, Yahweh, and Satan bring us all to a "stronger" moral code? Is there a synergism involved here?
