Wind River sees Q3 loss beyond views
--9:45am - By Michael Baron
Wind River Systems (WIND) is down 33 cents, or 6.6 percent, to $4.67, after the Alameda, Calif., networking software firm posted a second-quarter pro forma loss of $7.8 million, or 10 cents a share, wider than its year-ago equivalent loss of $6.5 million, or 8 cents a share, but a penny narrower than the lowered average estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial/First Call. Revenue dropped 21 percent to $63.6 million in the latest three months from $80.2 million in the same period a year earlier. Looking ahead, Wind River forecast a pro forma loss of 11 to 12 cents a share on revenue of between $58 million and $60 million in the third quarter, wider than Wall Street's current consensus estimate for a loss of a nickel a share.
