guess that fits with the same logic as higher % tax rates for the wealthier, still pretty messed up. do you live in one of them backwurds states below the mason-dixon? -g-

btw, i've found that if you turn off your ignition and put both your hands on top of the wheel with the interior light on, especially at night, and have all that done by the time they get to your window, they treat you a lot better when you get pulled over. it sort of defies logic because if i was a cop i would think someone doing that is acting too well and has something to hide or is a perpetual perp, but I guess the relief that they aren't going to get drawn on and blown away by some wackjob on dust usually softens them up.

You should have told him you were a gold bug. He probably would have given you a buck. <g>

By the way, I got a ticket on Saturday thanks to a nice little speed trap in a place I never seen one before. They were set up on foot (one on each side of the street) in a valley so traffic was moving downhill towards them in both directions. They were holding portable radar guns and waving people over to the curb to write tickets. They were very fast and efficient, all business no warnings, no questions about why you were in a hurry, etc.

Just another tax in my opinion. Otherwise they would made the punishment high enough that few could afford to speed or put radar guns and cameras on all the bridges so that nobody could speed without getting a ticket...but that would be bad for business.
