Well I would say that there are a lot of people who don't understand many complex issues and don't care to make an effort to figure them out. Many also don't think it really matters. Then there is a large group who are afraid and deceived. It does seem to me that the current dem leadership spends most of it time exploiting fear and cultivating division. I also think that 9-11 woke up a lot of Americans and many more may not take more time to figure out truth and fudge. The Internet makes the debunk information on all the lies instantly available.
