You still haven't told me how much the correct charge should have been to Cisco's earnings last year. $3 billion or $150 million?

Let me help you out here, I'm in a charitable mood after having an early glass of wine.

3 billion in expenses for 2001. But uh oh, in the new fiscal year the amt is now 150mm. This should be booked as 2.85billion revenue in 2002. No fair "pro forma"ing it- remember proforma is a scam for scam artists. And this is real money after all.

Glad to help you out Bill, I know numbers are not your thing. CSCO does not expense options. The methods used to arrive at the numbers you quote are far from what FASB is likely to implement next year. FASB will have little difficulty with this. CSCO will comply when it becomes law -- and in the mean time will produce as many confusing numbers as they can. Good luck.
