did you have trouble with hardware and software that wasn't compatible with XP?

I don't use XP because I didn't like the idea of paying for upgrades ;o). I chose Windows 2000 instead. I bought a completely new computer but also saved my old one for a back up. I keep all my software -trading stuff and fun stuff on the back up and haven't loaded very many things on the trading computer. In fact, there isn't much on it that I don't use for trading. I figured I would be less likely to have high blood pressure that way. So far I haven't needed anything that wouldn't work on W-00.

The Mr. did have a problem with a favorite printer of his. The company that made it is not providing drivers so that it will work with W00, so I think he has a dual boot system set up where he can choose whether to open with 98 or 00 at start up. He doesn't have any problems with this system but I think it would drive me nuts. It does allow him to keep all his old stuff though.

I wanted to get rid of all the aggravation and stress that comes with W98. Hope this helps - keeping in mind this is only my own experience. I am not a top notch geek - I only know enough to get by .....

Smooth,

I really can't help you there because the sw and peripherals that I have used are all compatible. What I have noticed is that the PC does not seize and that I do not have to constantly reboot because of MSFT's poor memory resource management.
