I've got a 1:2000000 road map of the Middle East (from Borders) on my desk. I agree there's nothing particularly suspicious about the Russians having war games in the Caspian. It just happens to be interesting timing if they want to be able to interdict any airborne or waterborne traffic going into or out of Iran.

They might just be keeping their eyes on the reactor they are building in case the Israelis feel like taking it out.

Yes Carl, but these wargames also coincide with the renewed efforts by Russia to carve up the Caspian RUSSIA'S preferred way.

Nothing wrong with that, just trying to add a bit of context.
