As for Urban Warfare, why enter Baghdad?? Those folks have to eat, right?

For the very reasons we're not going to carpet bomb urban centers is also the major reason we're not going to impose a modern day seize on Baghdad. I'm not debating the wisdom of your suggestion, but I am pointing to the political costs of employing such Israeli-like tactics.

Hi Hawkmoon; Re: "Those folks have to eat, right?"

Sure, it would be like the siege of Paris in the 1870s. The populace would be reduced to eating the zoo. It takes about 6 months. Maybe less if you cut off water, but I doubt it.

One downside would be having our President convicted of war crimes.

I'm sure that everyone who owns a dog in Baghdad would love the US after we made them eat it.
