Works this way with most people, but especially with these people. It is like the old saying about the Germans. "They are either at your throat or at your feet."

Yes, unfortunately. And this goes double when the Pals are splintered. Ehud Ya'ari just wrote an op-ed in the Jerusalem Report where he said, step up the pressure and let's see if we can break Hamas and Fatah apart from each other. Nothing else will work.

At least we're seeing some signs that some folks on the Palestinian side are having second thoughts about the repercussions of their policies.

Lots I'm sure, but those in power have painted themselves into a corner. Where can Hamas go? Agreeing to kill Israelis only outside the Green Line is as far as they can go, and the Israelis will offer exactly nothing in exchange for that 'concession'.
