I will never dehumanize an enemy. By the way, there are enough people like me in this country that we will never build gas chambers, regardless of the provocation. Would it help if I said I don't believe in mistreating animals? I was trying to convey the enormous technology gap between our military and the tribal Afghanis. Not that the technology gap does us much good in their world, as it turns out. But in our world, we are reaching for the stars. My desktop is photographs taken of galaxies so far away we can't see them with the naked eye. We're on the path to curing diseases so rare that few doctors have ever seen cases of. Is there evil in our culture? Sure. I just watched the testimony of Bishop Law, admitting that he put known pedophile priests to work with access to children. We read about parents setting up their own children into a child pornography ring. Etc., etc. We could use some help cleaning things up. Always room for good examples. If their culture is better, then help us out here. But these birds don't want to make our culture a better place, they want to destroy it. And that means destroying things that they are not capable of creating. That does not seem human to me. Not even very many animals destroy things just for the sake of destruction. They take what is useful to them, even kill ruthlessly, but wanton destruction is rare among animals. So I was reaching for a hyperbole.
