It is essential for any sovereign nation to be able to continously (daily or more frequently, if necessary) reevaluate its national security threat and adjust policy accordingly. I would expect that most nations would do precisely the same thing. So then, you are suggesting we should terminate our alliances since we never know when they will prove to be unwieldy, interfere with our "daily or even hourly" change in security perspective and threaten our sovereignty........right?
