Interesting Note From Broker Concerning GTC Orders

Tues Aug 13 16:11:14 2002 EST

Due to the large number of outstanding GTC orders, IB will cancel all GTC orders on the close of extended trading hours in New York, specifically 20:00 New York time, 13, August 2002.

Customers may re-enter their GTC orders if they wish to do so after the following time:
In the Americas, customers may re-enter GTC orders after midnight New York time.


I wonder if what they meant to say was to the large number of GTC orders that actually might get filled. <gg>

Have any other brokers communicated anything about GTC orders?
