I wouldn't even TRY to defend my country's position regarding " direct " involvement, other than to provide you this link again that shows " unofficial " support that few are aware of.

Canada was almost blamed " Blame Canada - South Park <GG> " for some of the short-comings of that effort, and although harboring draft resistors was somewhat of a humanitarian exercise , it was largely looked upon with deep contempt by those who made the sacrifice and went to NAM.

We hear it to this day.

I personally have mixed feelings on it , since for one, I don't believe in the concept of conscription , and two , I would not have been a draft resistor myself.

Interesting that many who also “ avoided “ the conflict ,are serving in highly influential positions in the US today.
