as someone who has had unvested options that were once worth over a million on paper... only to expire worthless, not once, but TWICE in my life, let me say that you know NOT of what you speak.

The cost that those companies incurred for my options was zero, nada, zilch. They were never worth anything. null and void. Delete. zzunck.
