Hi bill,

My info is anecdotal. I haven't revisited their financials in a long while. Maybe it's time although retail stores doesn't seem to be a place to be for me right now. We have both close by and it seems that Walmart is always crowded while the Zellers is rarely crowded. I as a rule have better luck with salespeople @ Walmart also. MInd you my opinion of Walmart also is that somehow it's a trendy 'inexpensive' store where people with better incomes shop, yet don't go to a Zellers. Zellers has a huge image problem at least amongst folk I know. That too may pass. On a straight price comparison though you always need to shop around. I also note that geographically Walmart seems to do a better job (in Toronto anyway) of locating their stores where folks with better incomes might shop.

Think of Windows and Apple. Which was better starting out ? Windows not. Which one won. ? A marketing genius that Bill Gates with an inferior product.

regards
Kastel
