Dennis

This what the "friendly" cable companies will be rolling out:

tivocommunity.com

sciatl.com.

4 months ago I purchased 2 TiVo units and a Philips DVD Recorder connected to digital cable boxes.

consumer.philips.com

The DVD players quality is mastered to within, in my eyes, 5-7 % of a rented or purchased shrink-wrap.

No more VCRs or tapes in my home.

I envision that within 5 years or less cable companies will offer VOD of not only thousands of movie titles but archived network programming such as Friends, etc.

Well, why didn't the local phone companies get there butts in gear to provide the same type of services? They missed the boat and the cable operators swooped in. Darwinism. To the first mover goes the advantage, but the game is just beginning.
