Engineered Support Named as One of 100 Fastest Growing Companies

Engineered Support Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: EASI) reported that Fortune magazine
has recognized the Company as one of the "100 Fastest Growing Companies" in
its August 19, 2002 issue. This is the first time in which Engineered
Support has been so recognized by Fortune, according to Michael F. Shanahan,
Sr., Chairman and CEO.
Engineered Support Systems, which ranked 34th in the survey, met Fortune's
evaluation criteria that include annual revenues of a minimum of $50 million,
a minimum market cap of $50 million and annual sales and earnings per share
growth of at least 25% for three straight years. The Company also delivered a
total return to shareholders of 77% annually over the three-year period, which
ranked in the top 10% of firms rated.
