If you don't have info, how do you know what your buying? How do you have any idea of how to value it? The numbers are just a beginning, admittedly, but they're a necessary beginning. If you have them, you can get a good idea of what the company is worth now. Then you can try to factor in future prospects. (Which is where you go off the tracks. :-) )

How do you know the whole thing isn't just a scam?
