Barron's is valuable for giving investors the conventional wisdom, and the experts it relies on can't always be bothered by facts, nor can they be bothered by the notion that not all companies in one sector have similar future prospects. Couple this with the fact that what appears most important for Barron's readers is what the larger companies are doing, and whether their prospects are improving. Thus, you have the lead article looking into the top 20 companies (by market capitalization), which in itself is not all that comprehensive a listing.

I buy BARRON'S mainly for the convenience of having a lot of data easily accessible, but this week's issue didn't even provide listings for closed end funds. Oh well, I guess half of the staff must be on vacation.
