Giving people labels under which they don't even recognize themselves and which they've asked you to stop doing is much less effort than discussing issues, but I still wish you'd stop doing it.

You wouldn't like it if inaccurate caricaturing labels you rejected were continually tossed in your direction, obfuscating any individual point or issue you were interested in discussing and changing the subject to what a Liberal is, what a Fascist is, what a Conservative is, what a Moderate is, what an Objectivist is, what a Libertarian is....

All subjects interesting in their way, but why oh why is it the main topic so often -- introduced by people whom others allow to choose their own labels?

It's just so counterproductive, Laz! It does NOTHING to stimulate discussion, it does only two things: changes the subject, and makes people figure that if they're going to be labeled instead of listened to for what they actually believe, why express themselves?

Please don't be offended. If I can be only mildly annoyed instead of offended at your constantly calling me something I don't at all identify with, you can be only mildly annoyed at my objecting, okay? Please?
