I realized after I made that "German" post that JJ was here I didn't feel offended personally. I have become accustomed to varying shades of humor here on the thread, from light grey to deep black. Actually I thought I saw your "tongue in cheek" when you were passing by on that moped :-)

LindyBill, what does it matter that JJ is here? I've known a few people of Arab decent or Muslim religion on SI. They've all been reasonable and polite in my experience. I can't imagine any of them being comfortable posting here. If the dominant wing here can't figure out any meaningful distinction between al Qaeda, Saudis in general, Palestinians in general, or anybody else in the rest of the Arab world, and the only "reasonable" solution is allegedly to pound them all into submission, it's not likely that we're going to draw any contributions from people who might have a little better understanding of those cultures than can be gleaned from reading "The Arab Mind".
