Jay, perhaps the business with the Internerd is a new, startup, one man band and it can only afford to start up because Mr Internerd has figured out a way to do the job of a million clerks with a few lines of code and a bit of silicon-germanium semiconductor. Or, if there were 1 million clerks clerking away, Mr Internerd can fire them and they can go and get real jobs making Mr Internerd nice beach resorts and doing other good stuff. They aren't out of work, as shown by the fact that global unemployment hasn't been rising. USA unemployment remains near 5% and Kiwi unemployment is at 20 year lows. I know who would win a vote between Clinton and Bush. Clinton would. The markets would perk up again. Meanwhile, Zombies are top of the heap in Silicon Investor - just as they made it to the top of the heap in the Nasdaq bubble. That pre-eminence will be as ephemeral as the Wealth Effect was.
