IBM also gapped up over resistance. What we are seeing here is just the picture one would see if we were beginning a very big run in equities. One can not ask the charts to help at this point. One has to use other means to decide if a huge run is in the cards.

From another POV, if the market has a downside surprise left in it, this is exactly what it would do to get the greatest number of people looking the wrong way.

*OT* Dell has been handed a "gift" by the HWP-CPQ merger (which is a mess and will be for months, likely years to come)..two biggest competitors, screwing up each other....GTW's gamble on the retail store/funny accounting has permanently eroded their share too. There really is no one else in that space.

I think Dell is now a safety stock...a mini-Microsoft play (sure, balance sheet doesn't look as good, but business model sets them apart from all competitors..ok, not a monopoly, but some unique price/systems advantage nonetheless...I bet institutions are loading up on their buys (Dell will not be going out of biz..what else does a tech fund manager buy?)

Having said, I think it still sees 16 and below before this is all over ng

Got any fundamental thoughts about the retail buying we have seen lately. The mess off the lows looks corrective btw.
