Al >go electric as far as cars

Won't make the oil boys happy. In fact, I understand the oil companies have bought up all the patents on electric cars since whenever just to prevent the cars being made. In fact, it would go a long way to cut down emissions if they raised the price of oil, but that's unacceptable to the US. The US economy runs on cheap gas, which is part of the reason why they have to make trouble in Afghanistan, Iraq and Saudi. The other part is because Israel won't give the Palestinian land back, but that's another story.

>plant a tree for every one cut

Be a heck of a job in the tropical forests of Brazil and Malaysia etc where they have been cutting down forests like there's no tomorrow.

Talking about cutting down trees, in my opinion, the most dangerous device EVER invented, even more dangerous than nuclear weapons, nerve gas or even politicians, is the chain saw. One day, when people look back at the devastated world (if they are able to), either covered in desert or under water, they can thank the chain saw for that. A chain saw enables any and every arse-hole to cut down, in an instant, the most precious things in the environment --- trees. And, as we know, they have already done a magnificent job.

If ever legislation was needed to control or ban anything it is for chain saws.

Al, meanwhile back on the ranch, most SA golds made a big jump today.

I suppose it has something to do with the announcement by the ANC that they weren't really serious two weeks ago when they said they wanted to grab whitey's mines.

These guys are amazing --- every time they open their mouths they lie.
