GREENSBORO, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 2002--RF Micro Devices, Inc. Combined production shipments of the five components - two power amplifiers, two driver amplifiers and a dual-band upconverter - have surpassed a multi-million dollar level and continue to increase.
Bob Bruggeworth, president of RF Micro Devices, said, "These production shipments expand our long-standing relationship with this customer, which we anticipate will grow in the September quarter. In addition to TDMA, we are shipping into CDMA 1x handsets at this customer, and we expect to announce additional shipments into future handsets."
The shipments complement ongoing sales of power amplifiers and small signal devices to this customer across multiple air interface standards. This customer grew to represent more than 10% of revenues in the June 2002 quarter, driven by growth of component shipments for use in major handset platforms.
The TDMA handset features voice activated dialing, two-way SMS messaging, Internet access, and an available FM stereo headset accessory. It is currently available in North America through Cingular Wireless and is also available in Latin America and South America through various wireless service providers.
