I have tried many times to explain why it matters.

I have been listening to your explanations and I think I understand already why it matters to you in terms of your personal beliefs. My question was in the context of an alliance between the benign religionists and the humanists. I don't see why it matters more than our shared advocacy of the dignity and promise of humanity when it comes to setting a spiritual direction for society.

<<It is perfectly possible that reality is beyond our comprehension and imagination. But we can only deal with what is within our ability to conceive......... >>

You're right. We can only deal with what we can conceive. Different people among us can conceive different things. What any of us believes may be only an illusion. So why are you so stuck on the notion that societal allies must all declare God to be real to move forward together for the betterment of humankind?
