I am going to favor the idea that things have changed in that too many have been burned to want to jump back in for a rally or that they are less likely to have the funds available due to layoffs, debt and uncertainty. So the upside should be limited in price although it may take longer in time to work itself before resumption of the downtrend.

Any possibility that trading from now to 9-11 turn into what we saw just before Y2K? I realize we are in a far different period but there seems be some similarities.

There seems to be this belief out there that September/October is going to result in the "the bottom".....in a way very similar to the idea that the markets would drop just ahead of Y2K.

Can one interpret this to mean that the actual selloff to newer lows starts after September 11th. There seems to be too much anticipation of market weakness as we approach 9-11.
Just a thought.
