CB, Maybe wars are not economically productive after all. That's a continuing urban myth. It astounds me that people believe it.

Look into the TT hole and repeat after me "Wars are economically productive". I doubt that many people would agree with that idea now. I suppose the source of the idea is that in WWII, the USA supplied the weapons and goods before finally joining in at large expense. For decades, the USA has provided weapons around the world at immense profit, so I guess the death of untold millions appears to be profitable when viewed from the offices of and economic neighbourhood of the supplying companies.

Now that Americans are dead and queuing [at security points], I imagine that they are not so enamoured of the idea of IRA terrorism and Osama freedom fighting and war in general as being all that great.

Wars look a lot worse, up close and personal.

Do you know how WWII started? Warned that if he invaded any country -after annexation of parts of Czechoslovakia- England would declare war, Hitler had to find a "real" reason to invade another.
Then Germans dressed in Polish army uniform attacked a German radio broadcast at the Polish border killing German people. Hitler had his reason to invade Poland.

Look, the same thing with the trigger of WWI. Why do you think they shoot Ferdinand D'este in Sarajevo in 1914? There must always be a first shot to kick off a war.

Think about it the this way: Remember that guy who started that fire in Colorado, this year so he could get some money putting it off since ha was a voluntary fireman?
