We are fighting in Afghanistan because that country harbored and allowed the SA terrorists to train and develop bases there.

Iraq has refused to obey the terms of its armistice and is a destabliizing influence in a regoin which can ill afford it....

"Why are we fighting in Afghanistan"

Do you REALLY not know the answer to this? Really? I'm gonna give you the short version, but I suggest you read up on it.

Afghanistan's Taliban government supported Al-Quida, which is the group that carried out the attack on the United States. They were a puppet gov't of Osama bin Laden for the most part. They also oppressed their people like no other government on earth, but that is not the primary reason we attacked Afghanistan. We succesfully routed out the Taliban and took away the protection of the Al Quida terrorists (they really are terrorists, Karen). Now there is a new regime that was chosen by the various political groups (tribes for the most part) in Afghanistan and we are remaining there to protect the structure to let them have a chance to succeed. Remember that we were roundly criticized for abandoning Afghanistan after the Russians withdrew from the area. This criticism is just imo in that this allowed the terrorist groups to florish, and have a base to plan and carry out attacks against innocent civilians (this is terrorism) without any effective methods of going after them (short of going to war). After 9/11/2001 we had no choice but to go to war.

What is scary to me is that there are people like you (either through ignorance of the situation or support for the terrorist) that feel we were wrong to do this. I can't understand that. I don't want America (or any other innocent group) attacked and killed. Life is not nearly as enjoyable with that going on.

Remember that Bush said we are going to go after terrorists (bad guys) and the COUNTRY'S THAT SUPPORT THEM.

Now if you genuinly did not know that stuff, then it is good that you do now. If you think any of my points above are wrong, please call them out so we can discuss them.

Have a good day.
Scott
