"That should send shivers down any freedom-loving American's spine!"

I don't know enough to say for sure that he had his rights denied, but I will give you that he did for the sake of argument. My reaction would be that when you are comparing keeping a guy in dtention who had tried to get in contact with terrorist groups, and at least pondered the possibility of building one of these devices (I don't think there is an argument about that, it is whether he had the wherewithall to do it), it is NO COMPARISON to the danger to the U.S. of not aggressively going after the forces who will attemtp to destroy us. Not even close. The left twists that into a belief that our government wants to go after innocent civilians for some reason. Borderline insane view imo.

What sends "shivers down my spine" is that there are large and well coordinated groups of people that will do ANYTHING, including flying airplanes loaded with innocent people into builidings loaded with innocent people to destroy America, capitilism and freedom. If the worst transgression of our immediate and necesary reaction to the event is some nutball who likes to design dirty bombs on his computer is held in jail for a while I am ok with that. I will protect myself by refraing from doing such a stupid thing.
