SKIP PAUL, My guess is that they have not yet installed the infrastructure needed to support GPSone.

In general, I agree. But more specifically, I think it's E911 infrastructure that is not installed yet. And Sprint PCS doesn't wish to risk the wrath of the FCC .. by providing gpsOne location services (maps, etc.) .. before they provide E911 services.

I don't know enough about the VZ situation on GPS to comment.

P.S. The QCOM registered trademark is 'gpsOne', not GPSone.

Also, look how long it took the Koreans to bring it out in force. It is only relatively recently we have heard how popular it is. KDDI is just now rolling it out, five months after launch. So let's give Sprint a little time.

However, I do wish they were using BREW to remove application implementation anxiety.
