SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Aug 15 (Reuters) - Design software
maker Autodesk Inc.<ADSK.O> on Thursday posted a fiscal
second-quarter net profit that was smaller than last year as

in the three months ended July 31 fell to $11.8 million, or 10
cents per diluted share, from $19.2 million, or 17 cents a
share, in the year-ago quarter.
Excluding items, profits were $14.5 million, or 13 cents
per diluted share, compared with last year's profit of $29.6
million, or 27 cents a share.
Total revenues fell to $211.4 million from $231.4 million.
