It is not just an academic question for me.

While, as I indicated, it is my understanding that when you increase the money supply faster than you grow the economy you get inflation.

But I am aware that a number of people are concerned about deflation. Before placing too many bets based on an inflationary environment I would really like to get a better understanding of the dynamics of deflation in a fiat dollar rich country like the US.
