The premise of an Iraq attack is that a regime change in Iraq will so scare all other developing nations that none will try to develop adequate technology to develop the same weapons the U.S. had 60 years ago. I think this is doomed to failure. Most countries of Africa, or South America, or Central Asia are not satisfied with 60 year old TVs, or radios, even automobiles of the 1940s. They are bound to develop or buy technologies which have been available in the west for a century. This will include the basis for WMD. The more the U.S. acts as unilateral bully on all fronts the more these countries which can easily find the way, will gain the will to investigate these options.

A terrible reason to go to war.

Is there any wonderful reason for going to war??

You do what needs to be done to avoid greater blood-shed later on.
