<<as dumb a beast as a East Texas Wart Hog.>> There are NO Wart Hogs in East Texas except those in zoos. The wild hogs in East Texas are a ferral mix of all hogs brought into Tx. Most often believed to be a nasty grouping, greatly or mostly German boar(related to German Landrace?), Gloucestershire Old Spots & or Hereford, Chinese(related to Cantonese?), &(many say perhaps of greatest importance) Iberian. In West Texas one finds the(pound for pound)much meaner `cactus pig', javelina, or collared peccary. Midland / Odessa is in West Texas. Some believe the swine to be near as smart as humans.
