cfoe--It's very unlikely that crude oil prices would have reached $29, as they did today, without some unusual buying. In general, when you see prices of essentials such as energy start to rise, consumer buying is curtailed. This would also affect demand for wireless services and equipment. Many potential customers would opt to wait and continue using wired services. Even though the hot weather increases energy consumption, resulting in higher oil and natural gas demand for electrical generation, it is unusual for the price of crude to be where it is--unless the U.S. is filling the petroleum reserve.
