Mani,

Re: "Either way, I am getting married in 9 days and will start an MBA program
shortly after. At that time I would stop moderating this thread, assuming SI can last that long."

Congratulations ... BTW, who are you handing the "moderator" position
to. Let me guess ... Niceguy or Dan3. <ggg>

Make It So,
Yousef

Mani, Re: At that time I would stop moderating this thread, assuming SI can last that long.

I hope you will rethink this decision. If you stop moderating this thread, those that are constantly attacking you have achieved their goal. Despite all those attacks and insults you have done a terrific job IMO. But if you insist on going it would be a good idea to nominate a new thread moderator. It would be very sad if this thread just died. I think Patrick Tanner could be a worthy successor (assuming he is interested).

Congratulations on the impending wedding :)

Remember, there will always be people that cannot bear to see something constructive put together by the hard work of others and will want to pull it down. Nothing new about that.

If you want (need) some encouragement, at least I think that you have done a fair and excellent job keeping the trash out of here. At least I appreciate it and I'm sure there are more that appreciate it than don't.

Just look at the number of posts here and that should be a very good indicator of your moderation. If more folks were unhappy about the quality of discussion here or your moderation this thread would have died long ago as Scumbria had predicted.

And Elmer and company would not return time after time even after proclaiming that they won't. I always get a kick how they can't seem to stay away.

Either it's their job or they are addicted. Either way, I get a kick out of how they swear off this thread but pop back up after a few days/weeks/months of hiatus.

Too many folks have worked to build this thread to ~90K posts. If you do decide to leave for personal reasons, I would humbly suggest that you turn over moderation over to either someone you designate or hold a vote on the thread.

JMHO.

Thanks and regards,

TG

Re: At that time I will stop moderating this thread,

We will miss your hard work.

Congratulations, though, on choosing the more important part of your life to focus on.

Regards,

Dan

Mani:

"I am getting married in 9 days and will start an MBA program shortly after."

Gulp...Lost my train of thought now...Congratulations on these two major and very positive commitments...

Also, excellent skills evidenced to me in your moderation of this thread...Cannot at all be easy fielding some of the reprehensible statements of a highly personal nature targeted at you...Interestingly, it is evident that most of the posters making such reprehensible comments share one commonality, INTC motherhood...(Probably doesn't indicate anything about the larger INTC culture...and certainly is not representative of the larger population on this continent, as far as I know)...so, if you can, take the personal attacks with a grain of salt...

P.S. One of my gang is getting married on upcoming Aug 24...are you the 24th or 25th?...in either case, once again, the best to you and to that lucky girl!!!

Best wishes on your marriage and future MBA quest. Marriage is the greatest, but don't take my word for it, here's what a wise man said: biblegateway.com

Congrats Mani! I knew marriage would be good when I shot my best score on my honeymoon (80 in Costa Rica). Still haven't beaten it.

Good luck with your MBA. I'm actually going back for a post bach - changing careers completely. At 32 I just realized that money isn't everything. My 4 month old reminds me of that every day.

Nice move with AMD today. Yesterday I said I'd be greedy and try to get it under $9. I missed my opp today ... ah well ...
