The thing that hurt us the worst, short term, that you Brits gave Russia, was a Rolls-Royce Jet engine. You sent it to them with idea that you were going to sell them. Exact copies of it helped the Russians shoot down our planes over Korea with the MIG.

The Mitrokhin archive is astonishing.

The Soviets penetrated Western institutions so easily, they thought it was some devious plot to feed them disinformation. The American OSS, for one, was fatally compromised.
