What did he cover up?

Oh, heavens to Betsy. One of the more bizarre moments in American history, a convoluted chain of events which now goes by the short name of "Iran-Contra." Investigated to death by its own special counsel, Lawrence Walsh.

As best as I can understand it, the cover-up had to do with whether Reagan knew the details of what was going on, or whether he was only aware of the general intentions.

The famous Washington question, "what did he know and when did he know it?"

They all do it, you know. As soon as they get in trouble, they try to hide it, instead of coming clean. Seems to me that nine times out of ten, it's the cover-up that gets them into the real trouble. Look at Clinton.
