Options question for anyone:

Does anyone have any idea why the Calls for AMAT are grouped in such a fashion?
It would be my belief that there would be a normal distribution for Calls,
instead the Open Interest Spikes Up and comes back down.
The Puts however, do not act in the same fashion, and have an almost bell curve distribution.
Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Jerome, since you find it useful, others may too. To get the numbers for any stock, just replace the symbol stockcharts.com

I've asked Paul for a concise explanation.
